Here we are, a Tuesday afternoon. I am working at the moment, waiting for my project to save, and outside it looks as if another storm is brewing. This is not good for a few reasons.

1. Ohio has already gotten LOADS of rain. Just last week, we got an estimated +4″, and that is a LOT of rain. Some places reported even more than that.

2. I haven’t mowed the yard in about a week (which is fine I am letting grow a bit and get healthy) which is not usually an issue, but I am not sure I can mow it tomorrow, and it isn’t getting mowed today if it rains!!

3. Really? Do we need more rain? I love thunderstorms, just not all at one time

That being said, stay tuned as this summer should be an exciting one for me, musically speaking More on that coming in the next few weeks when I can hopefully get a few of these projects locked into place! Until then, enjoy the summer, and stay cool.

Adam Lochstampfor wrote the killer snare part, so here is a tip of the hat to him!! In the next few months, hopefully we can get this concerto performed stateside with an orchestra!!

This article (and the video) does not insinuate that what you see shooting across the sky, is in fact of any unexplained nature, however I have seen numerous posts online (mostly in forums) and have heard some speculation by the same groups of people, that the previously mentioned object ‘was not as the media explained’…

MIDWEST FIREBALL

The further I get in my career, the more I am asked this question. In many cases, a composer is not able to talk about their projects as demanded by their non-disclosure agreement. However, once in a while a company will be so kind as to let a composer actually talk about their world-class, super-secret, mind-destroying, projects. (Yes, I am making fun of those composers who act as if their NDA makes them important, and improves their musical abilities)

The game I am working on is another epic by none other than Luc Bernard. It is titled Mecho Tales! While I cannot share more information about the project at the moment, not because I wish to hold the cards, but because I do not know more, please check back and I will share my progress as it develops!! Until then, here are some screenies below!

So what is a Gobstopper? For those of you that may not know, here is a short description from Wikipedia. “The Everlasting Gobstopper is both a fictional brand of gobstopper, and a real-life confection named after the fictional product.”

After getting the car, I popped a few of them in my mouth, and although I was strangely surprised at the sweet (yet subtle) nature of candies, I couldn’t help but to think of the REAL Everlasting Gobstoppers. The ones we saw in the original Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. You know, the ones that look like this:

As I type,  I am munching on a handful of the “new” gobstoppers, and while I am satisfied, I would much rather have the ones above. Not only do they look more amazing, I bet they really do change flavors, instead of the ‘movie theater’ variety we have now, where all of the colors (and the layers) taste the same. Actually, I am pretty sure that a few years ago, the Gobstoppers actually had LAYERS, now they are literally just one layer with cruddy pixie stick junk in the middle!! Again, not that this is bad, just unexpected…

What gives Wonka? Did you have to lay off Oompah Loompas because Hershey is undercutting you? Or maybe you shouldn’t have wasted all that money on fizzy lifting drink and lick-able wallpaper, and then not even bring them to market…

It should be a great show, and I still haven’t heard the piece, so I would be excited to hear anyone’s feedback on the performance!!

SWEETWATER CATALOG ON THE IPAD

Ultimately I can’t imagine it is anything more than a PDF of the huge Sweetwater Catalog, formatted for the iPad, (which could probably  be viewed on any device capable of displaying PDFs) I just never thought of carrying around such things on an iPad. Newspapers yes. Magazines, yes. A huge flyer? No.

Will this breed a future of coupons sent directly to iPads which can then be scanned at checkouts? Probably not, but the thought of it is cool. Granted you could see ALL of this from the Safari browser on your iPad, it is still rad!

However the other day I decided to stop and ‘treat’ myself to what I thought could be a treat of a sorts. I couldn’t have been more wrong…

Although the bacon and cheese on the sandwich was tasty, the meat was cold and chewy, the bun was stale and dry, and seemed to have shrunk by at least 40% in the last three years. What gives Dave Thomas? I know you aren’t around anymore, but can’t you haunt those that are making your once fantastic foods, not so hot?

The above sentence took me about a minute to do!!

First, I am super busy. While this alone would not prevent from doing a newsletter, it does mean that when I plan to do a newsletter, will be pushed around, back, and forward by my gigs.

Secondly, I have a better platform for ‘newsletter’ material than a newsletter. There are a lot of articles that I am publishing on my site that cannot be fully experience unless you are on my site, and 90% of the people that signed up for the newsletter, are actually frequent visitors of my site. I actually was amazed (and pleasantly surprised) at the number of people who signed up though.

And lastly, combine the two, and you can see that it could be time that would be better spent updating my site (which I am doing at the moment), creating musical articles (which I have in waiting for game releases) and do some video reviews of products or features of my music. Maybe in the future I will revisit a newsletter, but at the moment with my career, that time and energy I think could be appreciated more elsewhere!

Bounty Arms is an old-school 3d side-scrolling action game that utilizes modern technology from the Unreal Engine 3.
